Tardis Beacon / Fresnel Nautical Ship Lens

I'm not exactly sure where this should go. It doesn't qualify as a Build Diary, (not yet) it isn't a Reference, (though it does contain valuable information) , I guess it's a Prop from the Shops.

Recently I obtained a Fresnel Nautical Ship Lens from eBay. big_ship_salvage / www.bigshipsalvage.com apparently often have these 5"+ wide Lantern glass up for auction/sale. (eBay)
I got mine for around $30 with shipping.







Compare the 5" Nautical Lens (left) to the more commonly available 3" Jelly Jars(right).

One day I will build A Tardis of my own =D

Whoa! You got that lens for a little less than $30 US from those guys on ebay? After checking their web site and seeing the prices they're asking for items there, your win could almost be considered theft!

yeah after reviewing their website I guess I was lucky, but mostly the ebay auctions of these 5" lens go for under $50. I know that at least three other people were as lucky as me.
