Well since I can't buy a tardis for my husband in the western suburbs of Chicago, I'll have to try my hand at making one.  Wow!  This is going to be a bigger surprise for him than I thought.  I'm a little lost on where to start though.  The media room has 8 foot ceilings so I'm guessing I don't want to go larger than 7 feet and I'll have to assemble it in the actual room.  Which version of the tardis do you think would be best suited for this scale and are there plans available?  Thanks all!

Another fellow Illinoisan and I think 3rd Chicagoian.  Have you seen Madgirl's TARDIS on www.whereisthetardis.com ?  Not to mention Chicago TARDIS, the convention?  With your ceiling, I would suggest the Newbury box.  It has a short roof and should fit fine.

Thanks Bill & the cardborduser!  This will really help me get started (in theory at least - practical is a different matter altogether ;)).  I'll have to check out the Chicago conference for sure!  Sounds like fun.
