We appear to be entering an age of high precision Police Box replicas. So ... I'm building a map in time. I'm trying to create a chronological list of the known outings and appearances of the Tom Yardley Jones Box[es]. But WHO had access to this box.   So I started with The Doctor Who Locations Guide

Armed with the where and when, I was able to start a timeline. I understand the TYJ box fell under the province of Scenery, while that light on top was controlled by the Visual Effects department. I'm not sure what title those who were in charge of scenery would have been. I'm sure many other pertinent names and facts will be added to the list in time.

Immediately after the location filming for "The Leisure Hive", the Tardis and the Doctor were moved a few miles in land to the British Safety Council's regional offices in Brighton. As part of a campaign to promote safety, children were invited to submit paintings and Tom promoted this campaign with typical enthusiasm as this photo shows:

Peter Davison: This is Your Life - recorded on Wednesday, 17th March 1982.

The 1982 Trafalgar Square appearance was recorded as part of the "This Is Your Life" tribute to Peter Davison. JN-T had told Davison that he was recording a promotional trailer for Australia's ABC network only for Eamon Andrews to surprise the actor by appearing with his big red book! (I don't know why, but for the subsequent studio recording of This Is Your Life, the TY-J box wasn't used but rather a completely different box appeared and - as far as I'm aware - this mystery box never appeared anywhere else.)

No, this picture could only have been taken, at latest, two summers ago.  I know this because me and a mate took quite large paint samples from various areas of the prop - mainly the rear corner posts (which we can see in this shot) and the wall to the left of the back doors.  The paint is still there, so this must have been taken before I got my mitts on it.

An additional screen appearances, if I may, I always remember a Radio Times plug on the BBC circa 1988, which had brief cameos of celebrities from various shows, including Sylvester McCoy during what appears to be recording of Remembrance of the Daleks. He's in the TARDIS  doorway saying "I rather like the travel section.." Before taking a backward step into the box. Does anyone else remember this, and is it on You Tube?!??
