Here's the photos I took of the console during my second trip to the Experience.  I believe these reveal some extra details about the architecture of the Time Rotor.

A few more detail shots of the Five Doctors console on display:

In these two shots, you can see parts of the metal framework that support the outer casing of the console:

The underside:

After having seen a hexagonal opening in one of the underside panels of the console a while back, I was inspired to try see if this opening was still present.  Sadly I couldn't see any obvious openable openable hexagons (it's probably shifted around to the back of the console), but it appears that most, if not all the undersides have a hexagon detail on the "V" panel:

I also noticed this somewhat obtrusive ring hook:

On a related note, the Experience has started selling "Haynes-like" T-shirts, featuring a plan view of a Doctor Who related item, often with an outline rendition of the same view, or of a differing elevation of the subject matter.  The T-shirts featured elements from both New Who and Classic Who, with designs featuring the K1 Robot, Bessie... and one T-shirt in particular that I couldn't resist buying:

I want that shirt!

I'm also pleased to report that the Time Rotor is back in operation, I'd need to consult my friend who's on staff at the Experience, but I believe there was mention of a new motor system being built to power the up/down motion.

I was going to just upload them but they are big and there's also 53 of them.

Enjoy :)

Here's another one of that elusive plinth edging... Kingpin posted it above.

In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

I was watching the Peter Davison video from Gallifrey One (as it's an almost daily thing for me) and something was bugging me about Panel 1 with the door control.  I paused it and discovered some of the buttons are wrong!  Attached is the pic taken of the panel in the early 1990's before restoration for the 30th anniversary.  The two below are from Peter's video.  I think you'll see some blatant (and not so blatant) differences.

hopefully to make up for my faux-pas earlier I can post this video - As discussed previously on the thread

Peter Davison's original video message to Gallifrey One 2011

5 minutes 17 seconds in we see the Doctor Who Experience.

I believe the correct link wasn't provided before.
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

If you go to Vimeo.com, Peter posted the clean version of the video so you can see it better.  That said, Kingpin already has shots of the panel above.

Is it just me or are there several pieces missing from the console? ???

warmcanofcoke

it is true. Sadly. Over the years bits and pieces have broke off or have become missing. The restoration team have tried to mend it where possible. Still it is wonderful that the prop has survived. That I'm sure we are all grateful for.   ;)
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.

Is there any chance of anyone arranging to get a photo or two of the motor/mechanism, or posting anything that people may have in their libraries that you wouldn't mind posting? this would be important for us all to see so that we can design a good quality mechanism for our members. Pretty please??!!...Anyone??? ;) It may also be worthwhile to start a new thread on "the definitive time rotor mechanism" where we could share and collaborate on designs.

Kingpin

There's no way to photograph the mechanism without getting inside the console.

timerotor was kind enough to send me this image of the inner workings a while back.

you can just about see the motor but it isn't very informative.
