So are the shorter pieces half the length of the longer ones?

Loving the build by the way, I'm trying to discover techniques that will help me build my Smith box when the time comes.

flaming cog

Yep. Basically the depth of the walls from the edge of the base.

Right, here we go for another week....

Today I sanded and painted the base in blue:

I then attached and sanded the extra detail on the roof:

I see screws on the base of the TARDIS...Is that how you attached the posts? (With the support of the top signs and roof)

One bolt per corner post, with two bolts on the sides. Gravity and the structure as a whole makes it extremely solid. The DT teachers were like "Wow!" when I told them, they thought it wouldn't work.

My nephew has told his DT teacher about out TARDIS and apparently he is very excited to see it finished. At his parents evening my brother told him that when it's finished he's welcome to come and look, and at that apparently the teacher got rather excited. Teachers, in school you think they're a seperate species, but they're really Whovians just like us lol!
(I'll always remember the first time I was told teachers don't live in school. Took me years to wrap my head around the sheer outlandishness of that fact!).
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

Today I cracked on with the windows (left is the front without the white bit, the the right is the inside view):

I also painted the corner posts, door sign and the backs of the doors.

you're doing a great job Luke, just a question on the colour you are useing. you said "iris" what brand is it and what will you use to weather proof it?
keep up the good work

futuredoctor.

flaming cog

The brand is "Cuprinol - Garden Shades"

Don't know if I need to weather proof it. The can says I don't, so for my AS I'm not proofing it. When I get it home I will though.

My summerhouse was painted with cuprinol garden shades and has been stood out in all the weathers we have had for the last 3 years and is still as good as new, it's a good product due to a slight rubber compound within it, looks like a stain but acts like a waterproofing agent....A good choice

flaming cog

Thanks mate :) that's reassured me in my choice!
