Oh dear, I got very excited to see the Doctor Who section of the London Film museum, (not knowing it had one before seeing Daleks emblazoned on banners all over the place!) but I was very disappointed with this Tardis prop. Up close, it looks like it was cobbled together in a day, from a distance it looks like it was cobbled together in a d - you get the idea.
Regardless, I had a photo taken with it and the decent looking Daleks they have.

They also have a classic series Cyberman outfit on display! "As seen in Earth Shock" was what it said on the accompanying plaque. It was stood next to an Alien from 'Alien' or one of it's sequels.

Not having had the pleasure of being up close and personal with an actual completed Tardis / Police Box in a while now, (last one was either Critch when I was 10 or maybe even the Tardis they had briefly at the Llangollen Exhibition even earlier than that!) I felt the need to visit the Earls Court Box and fill a gap that I felt needed filling :P

All in all a good day :)

Oh what fun...a good day indeed.

Anyone else think Storm is a great doppelganger for 10?
Just spite up the hair and add a long coat......
What would the Doctor do?

That TARDIS prop has been around for a while.  It was used in the TV shows Jericho, I think, and also The Friday Night Project several times.  It's like the NST's big fat brother.

Aha the ol' film museum Tardis and Daleks.

I had the pleasure of chatting to the manager of this establishment last year at a Dalek event in Surrey. He was very keen on Elsie and wanted the Daleks at his museum for an event that didn't, in the end, happen.
He was adamant that his Dalek (The black and gold one) was an original BBC Dalek from the sixties. It is actually an exhibition Dalek circa 1973 and there is quite a few pictures of the Doctor incumbent, Jon Pertwee, with them. Not quite what he said, but a handsome pedigree, nonetheless.

He looked at picture of the ol KB box and his face was well, a picture. Then he said "Yours is much more accurate because mine is the real Tardis from the BBC" Hmmm.
It is true that his box has had screen time, but again, not quite what he was telling me. You'll be pleased to know that I did not impart any of this info to him, for fear of embarrasment. As I said, he was a smashing bloke and obviously cares a lot about and loves his exhibits. I will make my way to his museum for sure.

Why A-Thankew! I'll take that as a compliment :D

A few people have said that in the past, I might even spike up my hair and grow sideburns :P

I'd love a long coat thanks! I have no money currently though :( One day... (sigh)

Thanks for that KB, I had been thinking of contacting the manager and telling him that his Doctor Who exhibit was in need of some attention, but you've made him sound like he'd take it badly, so I might not now for fear of hurting his feelings!

P.S. I'm aware that there was another post on the topic of this particular Tardis Clicky. It inspired this one :)
