Hello All,

I have been meaning to do this for some time.

Originally recorded on VHS and then copied to DVD; thus the low quality.

Dimensions In Time was transmitted in 1993 (and in 3D) as part of the BBC Children in Need night.

Wow,I would love to know how they made it black and how come both the original tv version and the rehearsal version are both still grey...

Even when they made it black for Ultimate Foe, it was just the edges, not the whole thing. I wonder what happened here...

My understanding is that top panels were actually new casts painted black, with pink/red controls.  The column glass is red/pink.  The rest of the console is the 5 Doctors one with bits painted black.  In the last shot, the panel to the left of the guy is one of the monitor panels minus the monitor and housing.

Interesting... So not only did the original molds exist in 1993 - but also this means there is now a 3rd set of panels to ponder the location of...

:)

Its nice to know that there are still new things to learn, even after all the time I have spent on here posting screengrabs and reading research by others. Thank you :D

My understanding that this is owned (and maybe still) by Andrew Beech, ex-President of DWAS?

Andrew has the full 5 Doctor's console with all it's original (and a couple replacement) panels.  I don't know if he has the Rani Panels.  He  may have those too.

New walls with maybe some s18 columns. Hard to see here but the roundels are original or very close. Guy is Sam West.

If I remember correctly, there was a black version of this Mike Kelt console in The Master's Tardis. However, I think that one had the standard coloured controls, not red ones.

Was that the normal one, temporarily painted black? Was it the same shell as used here in Dimensions in Time, or was it yet another casting?

I'm going to have to have a proper look through my Doctor Who Magazines - but I did find this image - not much but may shed some light on tde detail.

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

It was the same console with some of the trim painted black.
