Still a LOONG way to go.

Good to see you again, Rob!  Seems like you've been dormant for a long time.

Very Nice........also nice to see a fellow Lightwaver :)

It's cheeky I know, but would you be willing to share the surface for the wood?  I'm having a devil of a time getting it right on mine LOL

Thanks

Hi Bill! yeah, I was super busy with stuff and fell off the face of the earth. I'm still doing stuff for 2|entertains DVDs of the classic series (yay) and I'm finally getting around to updating Who3D (again yay!) But I needed to unwind and I do that by lightwave (BIG YAY!!)

Mightyspud- Feel free to ask away. I love to share. I'm still working on the surfaces. But here's what I have done so far.
- Grey scale image of wood set to cubic-map
- No image used for the colour map. Just r-38 g-32 and b-86
- Wood image used for diffuse channel. Set to 200% and additive
- same wood image used for specularity. Set to 200% and additive
- same wood image used for glossiness. Set to 40% and additive
- same wood image used for bump. Set to 150%, normal mode and inverted

I'm very old school and have not used nodes for this.
you can see more of my stuff at http://who3d.co.uk/tardis

Sweet, thanks for that :)  Will give it a go later on mine :)

I'm old school too, the only things I use nodes for is adding some ambient occlusion and sometimes for glass (dielectric node), haven't really got into the nodes yet.

Some really cool work on that site, funnily enough I've been using some of that as reference material over the last couple of weeks LOL.

Another WIP. This one finished making the box, just making textures for it.

Please don't think of this as "nit-picking" as I am not one for that, but the lamp has 4 struts around it's perimeter, from that angle there should be one across the face of the lamp...

Excellent work though! :P

No you are right. For some reason it didn't render. It is in my Ambient Occlusion pass as seen below

clip.jpg

Maybe I did something stupid in photoshop.

Looks sweet as dude, as for the lamp strut, I think it did render, (you can sort of see the top and the bottom of it where it attaches to the lamp) but I think the glow from the lamp sort of bleeds over it (if you get my meaning) :)

Someone has stolen your TARDIS design and put it in second life.

This may have been you, but I doubt it, one of the panels is blank.
