I've come up with a good analogy for police box colouring think of it as sort of union jack blue.

Does anybody know how the phone panel is kept closed? I read that the earlier models had spring loaded doors that you had to hold open during your call but I'm not sure if this system was used during the crich barnett era.

One thing's for sure - it looks like it doesnt matter whether the ball goes on the door and the socket on the panel, or the other way around!  ;)

If mark's still looking for a fresnel for his miniature I've found some strobe lights on the internet that have lenses integrated into the bulb, this should be roughly the right size and retails for about five dollars us.

Okay here's one example I found after about five minutes looking on google images, I'm not sure of the exact size but if you shop around I'm sure you'll come out on top.

Thanks for the link Tele.

On the door catch issue

Crich has the actual ball catch on the box, as apposed to the panel.

Dunno if you guys remember, but about a zillion years ago I started building a 1/4 scale box using finest cardboard?

Well to refresh your minds, I had got a complete roof, 3/4 worth of sign box/ring beam, and had progressed to constructing two wall panels.

Now heres the thing,

1) TG managed to build her entire full scale box in ledd time than I managed the above parts (and I had the benefit of being indoors!) :o

2) We had builders in to put in a new kitchen, bathroom and central heating system, and because of having to move things around the house (out of the builder's way), the only part of the build left salvagable is the roof :'(

This is my own fault, if I'd have completed one part at a time, as I did with the roof, the other parts would have been as strong as the roof is.

So essentially, it's back to square one!!!!  ::)

Sad news about your model Mark  :'(

Why don't you start the full size build? I'm sure you dug a hole for the foundations many moons ago.

You need to get your priorities right  ;) I don't have central heating..or a bathroom..or much of a kitchen
But I've got a TARDIS  :D

 ;D Good point TG!

The foundations, and wiring are indeed there at the bottom of the garden. Makes a nice (if somewhat small ;)) patio!

oh, and for those of you guys that sent me a Sketch-up TARDIS/police boxes, I haven't forgotten or given up with the idea.

In the final processes of building a new PC (another first for me!), as this current one has slowed down to speeds too slow to think about.

Already installed the dual core processer and 4 GB of RAM so hoping for a little better performance!
