Hi,

Although I'm a noob around here I've already been asked to post a picture of my Dalek build.

I've caled him Nimrod (which means 'Hunter').

He's a nice chap really and is used for charity fund raising.  He was last seen at Sandown Park making friends with Elsie.

Anyway - enjoy.

Hi Chris,

I don't mind you asking at all.

The mesh was purchased from B&Q.  I went in looking for Aluminium mesh and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price so I had to opt for steel.  The actual sheet was about 100 c 50 cm and cost about £18.  As a result of using steel, I was worried that the edges would be sharp so I used earth sleeving to cover the ends (much more child friendly at events).

If I've done it right you should be able to see a close up of the grill before it was painted.

Hope that answers you question.

Regards

Jon

Thanks for the kind comment.
The black topped Genesis style has been surprisingly popular.  He's currently being refitted with an NSD style gun.  The current one is a bit on the flimsy side and will only be used when it is less likely that a child will try to grab it - I can also bung a nice water pistol into the NSD gun too  ;D

If you dont mind me asking?

As for making friends with 'Elsie', well, the mind boggles! Steady on Missus!! LOL!
