Hi Guys. My first day here. Heres some photos of my Baker era full size tardis I built during 2001. Its all wood. Thinking of getting a GRP mould taken off it at some point so I have a more weatherproof version - anyone knows any good companies for this? Hopefully I have added the link correctly! Cheers. Thank you deck5. I forgot the reference page.  It had the exact shot I was thinking of.

It looks really good.  Does it have the box underneath the lamp on the roof?  Can't tell in the pictures.

Hi Bill. I made two roof lamps. The fresnel 'ships' type and the 1970s blue hella beacon which was used in a couple of stories. Both have a box attached. Just added a photo of it. Cheers. R2studios

Cool.  Does the roof have a pitch or did you make it flat?

Hi Bill. Yes it is a flat earlier version roof (invasion of time etc). I did intend to make the later slightly 'pitched' version but at the time of building no decent photos were available. The pitch on the roof of this version (newbury etc) is so small it hardly shows. I now have a decent photo of the pitched version and will make a second roof at some point...Cheers.

Nice build you have there, looks very swish.

One thing though, the Newbery prop always had a pitch to the roof - the only time it changed (given a new, taller roof) was when it was redressed for use in Logopolis / Castrovalva and Black Orchid.

There are a multitude of high shots of the prop in the various season 14 stories that shows the pitch quite clearly.

Robots of Death is a good example of seeing the roof of the prop.  I think the roof pitch is the same height as the height of the roof step.  So if the step is about 1.25" tall, then the roof pitch is only 1.25" tall.  With it being a small roof pitch, it almost never shows up unless there is a high shot of the prop involved.

Thanks for your hints on the roof. Can anyone put up any decent shots of the pitch? I only have one so far!

Certainly Shada...

Edit: for Season 17, I can tell you that this lamp appeared on the box in Nightmare of Eden, Horns of Nimon and Shada. Before that they used the fresnel with the white housing (other than in Destiny of the Daleks) which had no lamp, cos it didn't fit when they put it on that rock in the cave entrance.

:)  Love it! I've been pondering that for years now.  I grew up on this one and I have a very fond spot in my heart for it.  WELL DONE!
