I remember seeing an image of what might have been the season 27 console room, i just can't remember where I saw it. Couldn't find it on TR2 so I thought I'd ask if anyone here has it or even knows what I'm talking about.
I think it hung from the ceiling by the central column.

Anyone? ???

I would Identify this myself, but I've never seen the films, so could someone inform me as to the identity of this TARDIS. I think it's Cushing from the style of Dalek, but, well, you know..

Oh, now you've got me hankering to see the Cushing TARDIS interior again!

I vaguely recall it as a very particular sort of haywire mix, of the Ealing comedy era:

that very British eccentricity, the combined ambience of St Trinians, Heath Robinson, Quatermass, Ronald Searle, Hammer Horror laboratory (but without the malice and gore), and school-at-Christmas-all-festooned-with-decorations-the-kids-have-made-themselves...

The joy of being happily let loose in a world of humbly zany nonsense that really works, cos it has a good heart!

Not the comic strip one in DWM? I liked that, it was like a mix of the 5 docs with a touch of TNG (all the touch screen controls on the console wree cool).

The design was used as a model set in a special WHO night many years ago, I did post some images of it years ago on TR2 along with Mike Tucker's drawings of it that he did for Doctor Who Magazine, oh woe is me - if only I had a scanner (been saying that for years now) or I could trawl through my HD and see if I can find the pictures.

(some time later...)

Well, found a frame grab if this is of any help:

Ah yes, that one :)

I think it bears some similarity to the comicstrip designs...

Fascinating.  An impressive collection of projects that deserve a lot of credit.  Must also have magic hypnotic way of convincing partner/flatmates/kids to leave his consoles there...

That's a model made by (I think) Mike Tucker and only ever featured as a backdrop for talking heads during various documentaries about the programme. A very lovely model however.

The Cushing console is a contradiction in terms really as he didn't have one - his TARDIS controls were all over the place and a horrible mess and different in each film.

Nice find DPK, not seen that one.

Dr. Cushing's TARDIS was a little on the messy side inside.

If I remember correctly, the Dematerialisation switch in this version was in fact a huge lever, similar to those used in old railway signal boxes!

>>I've never seen the films<<
Lucky lucky person!

I'd forgotten the railway signal lever though - sounds fun, very Eraserhead.
