How do you work out what angle to cut the side of panels at? I've always presumed it's sixty degrees but i tried that on cardboard yesterday and it came out five-sided! Dapol would be proud! I've decorated it up now, anyway... so, what is the answer, O great TARDIS-building geniuses?

The angles really don't help a lot: there's too much room for error. You probably won't be able to measure angle accurately enough to get the lengths accurate to even half an inch. It's better to use the lengths of the sides and the height of the panel.  Most of the top-side panel measurements are up on the fifth doctor console plans I put up, and are identical for all the previous consoles except the wooden one. The underside changed quite a bit.
If you're building a console, I would recommend making the frame first and then just cutting the sloping panels to fit the frame. It's much more forgiving that way.

I just found this from a link in wikipedia and thought I'd share it... its fantastic! :)

Just plumb in one of the 3 numbers and it will calculate the rest for you...

it seems so
now you can work out how much room your console and console room will take up
